Dear Friends,
Last night I saw a link shared on Facebook from multiple friends about a new online petition against Medicare's flawed DME bidding program. Unlike other industry online petitions that I have seen in past years, I really believe this one has a chance to gain hundreds of thousands of signers, because it was not created by a single association, manufacturer or buying group.
The story below details how the petition began as an idea from the 10 year old daughter of a DME owner in Scarborough, Maine.
A few weeks ago Google launched an online petition against the House Bill "Stop Online Privacy Act" (SOPA) and Senate Bill "Protect Intellectual Property Act" (PIPA). In one day they gained 7 million signatures. That online petition and other coordinated efforts are credited for getting those bills withdrawn, two days after that petition began.
I hope every employee, customer, vendor, family member and friend of all DME Associations, Manufacturers, Buying Groups, Distributors, Software Manufacturers, Billing Services, Home Medical Equipment Providers and everyone else connected in the DME industry take 30 seconds to click the link below and signs this online petition.
Then they can forward it along to everyone they know and ask that they do the same and add the request to their outgoing emails, social media messages and websites. The DME industry touches millions of lives. Let's watch the number of online signatures soar.
